EDM operates in developing countries to enable the poorest families to start small economic ventures. click here to visit EDM website >>> Evolution of SPACE In 2006, the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, after an evaluation of the programs of UPLiFT Philippines, Inc., a microfinance organization that services the urban poor in Metro Manila, recommended that it focus and keep inside the organization its core activities that are given only to their partners: savings, loans, pulong and skills training. On the other hand, all other services of the Resource Network, the program that implements and manages the non-financial services of UPLiFT, that have no direct link with the score activities, are conceptual or have a wider outreach than UPLiFT, will be externalized. This major decision to separate the Resource Network from UPLiFT gave rise to the creation of SPACE, Inc. (Services Provider and Capability Enhancer) in June 2007.
